Update

Hopefully we'll have a house soon. We found out on Friday that we should be able to close on the house next week. I'll believe it when it actually happens.

On another note. I took some pictures of the race car this weekend. Here's a couple. Click on the picture to make it bigger.

And the next President is.....

I promise to write more often. And I think today's topic is timely. The first presidential debate just ended, so I think I'll stick to politics. But I'm going to shift away from the Presidential Candidates and instead turn my attention to one of the VP hopefuls. If you are considering voting for John McCain, which I am, first consider the following interview with Sarah Palin. I know she gets a bad rap sometimes but really, I could answer these questions better than she did and I know virtually nothing about politics. This interview is painful at best, and sheds some light on her potential ability as a world leader.

Finally!!!!

The bank accepted an offer we made on a house in Bristow, Virginia. So hopefully we actually have a place to live now. Our house in Mentor is supposed to close on October 6 and we should close on the new house on September 22nd. That will give us some time to get things ready before we move in. We have to replace some carpeting and do some painting.

If you want to see pictures CLick here to see a slideshow or virtual tour of the new house.

You're all invited to stay on the way down to the Outer Banks. You don't even have to go through DC. There's plenty of room.

Sad News

We've received some sad news. Tim Wargo, Aunt Catherine Ann's oldest son passed away. He had a stroke. No regular funeral is planned but instead his wishes were to have a celebration of his life at his home. That celebration will either be Friday or Saturday in Waitesville, Vertmont. Please keep the Wargo family in your prayers.

Tim was a Doctor.
CLick here to read his medical biography.

The House Saga Continues

I have changed the countdown to reflect the new Outer Banks date of June 6th. That means it's a lot closer now. Here's a link to the house we will be staying at for the week. www.899LighthouseDrive.com

We are hopefully one step closer to selling the house. The buyers are doing their home inspection on Monday. We have also made an offer on a house in Bristow Virginia. It's 9039 Raging Water Drive. It's plenty big enough to have a lot of people stay on the way down to the banks.

I've moved

Nothing too exciting that I'm adding today, but I've moved again. I've moved in with an old college bowling team member Keiko Kinoshita. She lives in a condo with her fiance Ray. It's a little farther away from where I work but, it will cost me a lot less. They are on vacation right now, but once they get back it will be nice to interact with people outside of work. Today's picture is one I took a while ago, but I think it's a cool picture. The sun was setting behind Autumn. I had to use a lot of flash to light her up since the sun was so bright. Below that is a picture from the Stella Maris retreat center when we went up to visit Aunt Agnes. It's hopefully much warmer there now then when the picture was taken. As always, click the pictures to make them bigger. I believe the Stella Maris pictures are in one of my shutterfly galleries, you can click on the link over there on the left if you want to see more pictures of Stella Maris. Till next time.... E.

The Latest

Sorry it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm back. I've added an Outer banks countdown clock on the left side of the page. The seconds are ticking away.

Everyone please pray for Tom Zimmerman. As most of you know he's in the hospital and his heart is only pumping at about 5 percent of capacity. He currently has a device that is pumping for him. You can read more about it at this web site.

Heart Device

Last word was he had not regained consciousness. He was being sedated while they treated him.

On another note. Below are a couple of pictures I took recently at the Washington and Lincoln Monuments at night. Tonight there was a double rainbow over the Washington Monument, but by the time I got my camera the rainbow was tiny. I got a couple of pictures but I don't have the right cord with me to get it out of my camera. I'll put it up soon. Click these pics to make them larger.

OBX 2008 Fast approaches

We're heading off to the outer banks in 32 days. Remember Outer Banks 2005????
If not here's a few pictures to remind you. Our turtle kicked ass.
All of the outer banks pictures from 2005 are on my picture page. Click the "My Pictures" link on the right side. Right over there -->
No down a little, yeah right there.
There's also a live Outer Banks web cam too. It looks warm there.

The Wedding Bell Blues

After the drive home Friday night, it was DJ'ing a wedding on Saturday and Father's day on Sunday. Only three more weddings and I'm done. These people weren't too proud to beg this weekend. But they didn't last too far past 10:30pm. Amateurs!

The Trip Home

It's funny how life works sometimes. When your looking for something to happen it doesn't. Then, as soon as you are not paying attention things fall right into your lap. Let me explain. I was driving back to Mentor from Washington DC Friday night when a storm hit. The clouds were ominous and I decided to take some video. The first couple videos I just aimed the camera and said nothing. Then I decided to narrate and see what I could catch on tape. Here's my first narration video.

And of course I didn't catch a whole lot. Just the sky lighting up and rain. I proceeded to take 15 or so more short videos trying to catch a few lightning bolts. Nothing. So I was on the phone with Danielle and pointing the camera and not even paying attention and now look what I didn't even know I caught.

Mac and Darlene Turn 50

We had Mac and Darlene's Surprise 50th Birthday party this past weekend. It was a lot of fun. Although I think they knew it was coming. Everyone was trying to convince Mac he had to come home this weekend. So they were a little tipped off to the whole ordeal, but it was still a good time. Highlights included a few sing alongs and a tribute "Leader of the Band" song that left all the Ensigns in tears. Michael played a lot fo Mac's favorite songs and he sang along to "Long tall glasses," "Damn this traffic jam," and "Pick a bail of cotton." Thanks to everyone who made the food. Does anyone know who made the taco dip, It was delicious. I took a bunch of pictures at the event. Click on the pictures to see them full size. If you want to see more go to http://ensign.shutterfly.com/

I leave you today with this quote from Mitch Hedberg, one of my favorite comedians.
I want to hang a map of the world in my house then I’m gonna put pins into all the locations that I’ve travelled to. But first I’m gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won’t fall down.

Welcome!

Welcome everyone. Yes, I'm starting a blog. No I'm not that important, but I do feel quite out of touch with a lot of people. I'm not sure if I'll get any readers besides my mother but I do plan to post a lot of cool pictures. I'm hoping to eventually put up all kinds of old pictures as well. So that will be fun, but maybe not for some of you who are in the pictures. There will be stories of what's going on in DC too as I visit more sites and take more pictures. An outer banks trip is coming soon so expect lots of pictures from there too. Enjoy.
